Sometimes shared hosting is the right answer. This page tells you when — and when it stops being one.
Shared hosting is cheaper and zero-maintenance: someone else patches the server, and email often comes included. A VPS gives you full control, dedicated resources and real performance — but the server becomes your responsibility. If your site is a simple brochure with a contact form, shared hosting is genuinely fine. For everything else, the gap opens fast.

One VPS at €6.5 replaces several shared plans: a blog, a staging site and a small API fit on Buran-1 at once. If you pay €4–5 per site on shared hosting and host three sites, the VPS is already cheaper — and you stop discovering surprise fees when you need an SSL certificate, more databases or a second cron job.
You want email included and zero server administration. Your site is one small WordPress you never touch. You host a hobby page and truly do not want to think about SSH. That is a valid choice — we would rather say it than sell you the wrong product.

For database-backed sites, usually yes by a wide margin: dedicated NVMe storage and non-shared CPU remove the two things that make shared sites feel slow. For a static page the difference is smaller, though NVMe still helps.
