Minecraft Server VPS from €12/mo

Host your own Minecraft server on a KVM VPS: dedicated vCPUs, up to 24 GB RAM and more, root access. Java or Bedrock, from €12/mo, card or crypto.

Which plan fits which server

ServerPlan
Friends or small community (up to ~20 players), Paper or BedrockCore VPS 4 — €12/mo (4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM)
Modded server (Fabric/Forge) with a heavier modpackCore VPS 6 — €16/mo (6 vCPU, 12 GB RAM)
Several servers or a network behind a proxyCore VPS 8 — €30/mo (8 vCPU, 24 GB RAM)

These are starting points: real load depends on view distance, plugins and how many chunks players explore. Start with the smaller plan and move up if the console shows lag.

Quick start (Java, Paper)

apt update && apt install -y openjdk-21-jre-headless screen
mkdir -p /opt/minecraft && cd /opt/minecraft
# download the Paper jar for your version from papermc.io, then:
echo "eula=true" > eula.txt
screen -dmS mc java -Xms2G -Xmx6G -jar paper.jar --nogui
ufw allow 25565/tcp

Run it under systemd instead of screen if the server must restart automatically after a reboot. Bedrock uses UDP port 19132.

What you control

  • Root access — any Java version, any server software, your own start flags.
  • Backups — snapshots on Core plans plus offsite copies with restic.
  • Dedicated IPv4 — players connect with a plain address, no shared ports.
  • Pay your way — card or crypto, see pay with crypto.

Quick answers

How much RAM does a Minecraft server need?

A small vanilla or Paper server runs in 2–4 GB; with plugins and a dozen players 6–8 GB is comfortable. Modpacks can ask for much more, so check your pack's recommendation.

Which ports do I open?

Java Edition uses TCP 25565 by default, Bedrock uses UDP 19132. Open only the port you use and keep SSH protected with keys.
