Self-host Coolify on a KVM VPS: deploy apps, databases and automatic HTTPS without vendor lock-in. Dedicated IPv4, unlimited traffic, crypto accepted, from €12/mo.
Coolify turns any Linux server into a small Heroku: you connect a server over SSH, point a git repository at it, and the platform builds the image, starts the container, wires the reverse proxy and issues certificates. Databases (Postgres, MySQL, Redis), cron jobs and workers live next to your apps. Self-hosting means the source is open, the data sits on your disk, and there is no per-seat pricing hiding behind the dashboard.
| Workload | Plan | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Side projects, 2–3 apps | Core VPS 4 — €12/mo | 4 vCPU / 8 GB handles the panel, builds and small databases |
| Team apps with Postgres and Redis | Core VPS 6 NVMe — €13/mo | NVMe keeps databases responsive during builds and deploys |
| Frequent CI builds, many services | Performance Plus 8 — €75/mo | 8 fast vCPU / 24 GB for parallel builds and preview environments |
# Ubuntu 22.04/24.04, as root — official Coolify installer curl -fsSL https://cdn.coollabs.io/coolify/install.sh | bash # panel: http://<server-ip>:8000 — create the admin user, # then add a domain per app and let Coolify issue the certificate
Yes — Coolify is open source (AGPL-3.0) and the self-hosted edition has no licence fee. You pay only for the server it runs on; the optional cloud version is for people who do not want to administer anything.
No — the installer sets up everything it needs. Having the Docker guide at hand is still useful: it explains images, volumes and compose files you will meet inside Coolify.
The usual path: export the app as a Docker image (or a buildpack), copy environment variables, move the database dump, then point DNS at your server. Start with a staging app on Core VPS 4 and switch domains when the stack is stable.
